“I’ve always been fascinated by cryptozoology, reading anything and everything I could get my hands on about the subject in my youth. Spending hours pouring over old illustrated etchings, and tales of the fantastic. Especially captivating, was the mythical gigantic squid that lurked in the depths of the open sea waiting to prey on unsuspecting sea farers. This piece was created drawing back on that childhood interest. Hand carved with miniature chisels into a maplewood panel.”
